2008 PFDA JUNIOR CARVER CONTEST
|
|
This contest passes on the tradition of carving and painting of decoys. To pass on this tradition, take some time to mentor a youngster on the history, pattern making, cutting out the pattern, carving the decoy and finally painting it. It isn't necessary to be a hunter to enjoy this tradition. So the next time you see kids with nothing to do, its time to take the step and invite them to begin carving with you. You will be surprised how rewarding it can be to see your student enter competition and learn this time honored hobby. If you need a student, call a member in your area, I am sure they know someone who would profit from the experience as both the student and the teacher. Let's get going and get the entries in for 2007. |
