The most imposing half of the room holds the tall pegboard-mounted and easel displays of wildlife art. The Sacramento Festival has always provided a good selling opportunity and is attractive to professionals whose large and colorful works elevate the significance of this show. Surrounding the artists, and seated at tables along the walls, are the professional woodcarvers with examples of their works. Other wall space is utilized for special exhibits. These have varied from arrangements of old decoys, duck boats and hunting artifacts, to a more recent series of "Honored Carver", and "Honored Artist" retrospectives. At other points, art-in-action carvers or painters show their techniques to onlookers, but the most noise and movement in the room centers around the competitive events; the main business of the Festival.
